TTW: Purity Made Simple

This is a short and sweet TTW!
Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple is the best facial cleanser I’ve ever used. I only thought of this today because I found myself missing it - current cleanser on tap is Principal Secret’s Reclaim and though it cleans… I don’t like it near as much as the Philosophy.

Non-drying yet not a creamy lotion that feels like it will never wash off, it just works. Washes away make up and the day’s dirt with little effort and leaves the facial surface ready for whatever comes.

Philosophy explains it better than I can. This is what they have to say about their product:

purity made simple is a liquid crystal cleansing emulsion that removes makeup, dirt, oil and debris in one step. purity made simple was created because it was our feeling that most cleansers were not getting the skin clean enough. furthermore, we do not believe you need a makeup remover and a toner to complete the cleansing process. purity made simple was formulated to emulsify and dissolve dirt, imbedded debris, and makeup rather than creating a lot of foam without a lot of clean.

Perfect. I need to order some more, because this reclaim stuff is driving me crazy. It’s the little things, right?

TTW: Bose QC3

bose QC3 in useAdd everyday stress to age progression and you’ve got yourself a husband on the brink. I never signed up for crazy, so in an effort to stabilize his moods [I can't get him to take drugs; I tried!] I bought a pair of Bose QuietComfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones. He’s a ’sound’ person. Every little noise drives him insane, whether it’s the dog huffing at the door or the pc fans. Noises I don’t even hear, those are the burs under his saddle blanket.

I purchased the phones directly from Bose dot com. The specs are there on the site, but I’ll hit just a couple of the high notes; the things important to us.

Even at 5.6 oz. they are extremely comfortable. Though not the most important feature, it’s worth noting right up front, because if they weren’t you’d never keep them on long enough to get any use out of them… or your $350 worth.

The sound quality is excellent, of course, but it’s the noise cancelling qualities that are most welcome. He doesn’t listen to music with them, but turns them on while he’s at the computer, where most of irritants occur. They block out all background noise. Four computers are running, the fridge, A/C, t.v. in the living room, etc… when those babies are over your ears you become blissfully unaware. Taking them off is like turning up the volume on life to ’scream’.
If someone standing next to you speaks, you hear them, though they sound displaced. Same goes for television or radio in the same room. It’s not possible to block out everything, but the QC3’s do a credible job.

The battery life is a respectable 25 hours. It is easy to recharge and replacements cost 50. if another should be required.

Included:
• 1 pair of headphones
• 5-foot detachable audio cable
• 5-foot extension cord
• 1/4-inch stereo-plug adapter
• Dual-plug adapter
• Rechargeable battery
• AC battery charger
• Carrying case

The carrying case is nothing to be scoffed at; thought out to the tiniest detail, it is well designed for the safety of the headphones as well as the owner’s convenience.

Hubby will be flying to MO for work soon; he’ll report back at that time on how well they perform in an airplane.

UPDATE: For the first ever, HE SLEPT ON THE PLANE! The headphones worked wonderfully!

TTW: Tecnu Extreme

If it’s summer, I must have poison ivy. This time on my left arm. tecnu extreme Not really surprising, considering the amount of outside work I’ve indulged in lately… I just have no idea how it got me.
Call me paranoid, but I’ve made it a habit to wash my arms and legs down with Tecnu Extreme after clearing out the flower beds just in case and so far it’s worked.

I’ve been saved much agony by this product and can assure you that it works - absolutely works like nothing else I’ve found for poison ivy… even days into the outbreak!
One of my outbreaks became infected a few years ago and I had to go to the ER… but that was BTE: before Tecnu Extreme.

No matter how you spend your summer, whether shuttling between Orlando vacations like Oldest Daughter and family, or clearing out a new flower bed in your own yard, Tecnu is handy to have in the medicine cabinet.
I bought mine at CVS, but it can be found at most big box retailers or drug stores.

TTW: Tervis Tumblers

tervisI love sharing Things That Work, because so much doesn’t. So many highly touted pieces of Chinese made consumer goods are utter crap, which is part of the reason why I look for the Made in USA label.

Tervis tumblers are made here in the United States and after buying two of their 24oz I’m ready to get a set of 16oz, and some lids as well.
I never knew that the double walled glasses I saw at boat stores were Tervis… until I became frustrated with the cheap glasses made to look like Tervis… that lasted maybe a month.

Tervis tumbers are constructed of a polycarbonate ten times more impact resistant than other plastic. They do not sweat, but do float… and the best point? They are guaranteed for life. Tervis has good reason to stand behind their tumblers since 1946: they’re well made from quality products.

To buy, navigate to either tervis dot com or one of their affiliates on the net. I personally purchased my tumblers from Amazon dot com.

Well worth the price!
