Diet, SNPs and Cancer
What is the relationship between diet and SNPs, and how might this relationship influence cancer risk? Although this area of research is in its infancy, some relevant data from investigations of other diseases provides a hint that SNPs may link dietary intake of certain nutrients to disease risk, including risk for cancer.
Scientists have been concerned for many years about the relative importance of environmental factors and genetics in determining cancer risk. It is a widely held belief that 80 to 90 percent of human cancer is due to environmental factors.
Detoxification, or detox, refers to the body’s method of getting rid of impurities and toxins via the liver, colon, skin and kidneys. Toxic overload can occur if too many toxins accumulate in the body as a result of eating the wrong foods and poor lifestyle. Built-up toxins have a really significant impact on how we feel.
