Banana pudding

I made some banana pudding yesterday and since I take a picture of nearly every thing I do…

I was just at the Williams Sonoma website trying to find these glasses… not that I need any more, even though YsD did throw a couple out, along with half of one set of silverware and some plates… but when I bought them ohsomany years ago… probably 1993… they had a confusing name, as if they weren’t really for drinking at all, but a secret purpose only real chefs knew about. That excludes me, of course.

But I got instantly lost in a sea of cooking utensils, drug under the waves of baking pans to suffocate amongst the dregs of glassware. Dodging pop up ads for laughlin hotels, I turned to internet search and had less luck there.

Could they simply be jam jars? Looks like it, though I think I’d rather the mystique of a foreign word calling to mind fields of pretty heather in lands I’ll never walk.

The banana pudding is all gone, by the way.

reminds me of tumblers

Yep. Very heavy glass. Made in France and almost like the Duralex Picardie… also looks like a Libbey glass called Gibraltar that’s made for restaurants. But it’s neither.

Duh! Why didn’t I look on the bottom? It’s made by Luminarc but they don’t carry the exact thing anymore, from the looks of the website.

Well, that’s just sad. :(

Oh, banana pudding would be awesome right now.

I agree! Too bad it’s gone. :(

EEEK! Here they are!!

How funny:
Working Glass 21 oz preserving jar/tumbler. BOX OF 12. Working Glass 750 by Luminarc. These tough Working Glass jars were made for home made jams, jellies, marmalades and preserving. Also makes an excellent tumbler and drinking glass. 5 1/2 ” x 3 5/8″.

Hell, box of 12 for 20 bucks? I should buy some more. But where are the lids?

This is the Luminarc Classic ‘Working’ glass!

Celebrating it’s 25th anniversary this year (2003), the famous Luminarc product we all love as the “Working Glass”, was originally designed to be a jelly jar for preserves. That model would have had a pressure-lock lid like typical American canning jars.
