TTW: Bose QC3
Add everyday stress to age progression and you’ve got yourself a husband on the brink. I never signed up for crazy, so in an effort to stabilize his moods [I can't get him to take drugs; I tried!] I bought a pair of Bose QuietComfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones. He’s a ’sound’ person. Every little noise drives him insane, whether it’s the dog huffing at the door or the pc fans. Noises I don’t even hear, those are the burs under his saddle blanket.
I purchased the phones directly from Bose dot com. The specs are there on the site, but I’ll hit just a couple of the high notes; the things important to us.
Even at 5.6 oz. they are extremely comfortable. Though not the most important feature, it’s worth noting right up front, because if they weren’t you’d never keep them on long enough to get any use out of them… or your $350 worth.
The sound quality is excellent, of course, but it’s the noise cancelling qualities that are most welcome. He doesn’t listen to music with them, but turns them on while he’s at the computer, where most of irritants occur. They block out all background noise. Four computers are running, the fridge, A/C, t.v. in the living room, etc… when those babies are over your ears you become blissfully unaware. Taking them off is like turning up the volume on life to ’scream’.
If someone standing next to you speaks, you hear them, though they sound displaced. Same goes for television or radio in the same room. It’s not possible to block out everything, but the QC3’s do a credible job.
The battery life is a respectable 25 hours. It is easy to recharge and replacements cost 50. if another should be required.
Included:
• 1 pair of headphones
• 5-foot detachable audio cable
• 5-foot extension cord
• 1/4-inch stereo-plug adapter
• Dual-plug adapter
• Rechargeable battery
• AC battery charger
• Carrying case
The carrying case is nothing to be scoffed at; thought out to the tiniest detail, it is well designed for the safety of the headphones as well as the owner’s convenience.
Hubby will be flying to MO for work soon; he’ll report back at that time on how well they perform in an airplane.
UPDATE: For the first ever, HE SLEPT ON THE PLANE! The headphones worked wonderfully!

Thank you; I had forgotten about my blogoversary!
I bought these awhile back and LOVE them. I fly frequently and once I put my headphones on I’m in another world from the other passengers. I can be asleep before take off and the flight attendant wakes me up when we are about to land. Perfect.
Only bad thing is when my son uses them …it’s like I have to slap him up the side of the head before he’ll respond to me. Drives me nuts. LOL
Thanks so much, Anna; I love having another perspective! Arthur is flying out tomorrow morning so that will be his first time using them on the plane; I’ll tell him what your experience has been.
I can’t wait to see what he thinks!

Excellent!
Happy blogoversary!
