Dr. Suess pens bodice rippers?

Remembrance is a tenuous thing.

My memories increasingly elude recall, hanging on antique satin ribbons frustratingly just out of reach. Not the important things, like our anniversary or birthdays. Just silly stuff, like the book I just read. What was it, can anyone tell me? What a great story, a wonderful romance! I’m sure it was just one of my old Judith McNaught’s… but still!

I started a new -easily forgotten- book this week… a Kathleen Woodiwiss that Tonie brought with her last weekend called ‘The Reluctant Suitor’.

OMG it sucks. Now, I adore the early Woodiwiss novels… but this is almost unreadable because of the repetition. Who is this woman’s editor, Dr. Suess? We don’t need one or two single facts pounded into our heads over and over. We are not 5 years old or we wouldn’t be reading romance!

Maybe I’ll dig out another McNaught. ;)

Judith McNaught is one of my all time favorites. Seriously. I used to own every book she ever wrote. My two “go to” books when I needed to escape, Paradise and Perfect, ohhhh I may need to replace those…..

Paradise is the one I read right before the one I can’t remember!!!

I would screw you in a chair
I would screw you over there
I would screw you on the tram
I would screw you, Pam-I-Am.

:hotflash:

Okay, don’t get all hot and bothered. I just could resist the pseudo Green Eggs and Ham prose.

 That’s entertainment!

EDIT: It was supposed to be [blame the 2nd glass of wine] ‘That’s Entertainment!’ like the movie… Nah, still doesn’t work well…

I’m still laughing, though. ;)

Glad you saw the humour in that…I’ve been called offensive for similar ribaldry…

Well, if a stranger wrote that I’d simply flush it… but I know you, so it’s precious to me… sort of like Bree’s poop. It’s hers, so it’s special…

Great post title! But, hey now! Dr. Suess can be good reading when it comes to adult material. Case in point: The Tough Coughs As He Ploughs the Dough. Come to think of it, I wish he was still around to edit some of my stuff. It could use a little whimsy! ;)

Great title; would that the content had rivaled it… and how could I forget the Cow in the apartment?!

The man was a genius rivaled only by James Thurber.

Thanks for coming by, Brenda…!

I left a comment that disappeared. It had a link to Seuss’s wartime cartoon anthology called Dr. Seuss Goes To War. Pretty cool book.
