Don’t make this mistake…
I love C.S. Lewis, so last week I ordered ‘The Screwtape Letters’ and what I thought was a copy of ‘Mere Christianity’. Turns out it was the Shepherd’s Notes and not the book itself. Sort of an expanded Cliff’s Notes, it looks interesting but not what I was after.
Some days everything’s a lesson.
3 Minute Management Course
1A man is getting into the shower as his wife is getting out, when the doorbell rings. She quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. She opens the door to Fred, the next door neighbor.
Before she says a word, Fred says, ‘I’ll give you $800 to drop that towel.’
After thinking for a moment, she drops it and stands naked in front of Fred.
After a few seconds, Fred hands her $800 and leaves.
Wrapping herself in the towel, as she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks: ‘Who was that?’
‘It was Fred the next door neighbor’ she replies.
‘Great!’ the husband says, ‘did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?’
Moral of the story:
If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders (and Management team), in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.
Mobile phones more dangerous than smoking?
I find this hard to believe, but here ’tis anyway.
Mobile phones could kill far more people than smoking or asbestos, according to a study by a neurosurgeon and award-winning cancer expert…
The expert, Dr. Vini Khurana, says that the government and cell phone industries must take immediate steps to reduce people’s exposure.
Since there are no less than 4 links to Biopro [Awen Grove] and they are quoted as the primary source for the article, I’m assuming the company funded the research behind this discovery.
In fact, this paragraph should clear things up nicely for us:
What you can do in order of greatest protection:
– Not use a cell phone
– Not carry a cell phone on or near your body when not in use.
– Use air tube headsets not wire headsets with your phones (which conduct greater radiation to the head).
– Purchase a BIOPRO cell chip and place it on the cell phone to reduce response to the radiation from the phone.
I’m just naturally suspicious.

Chantix results!
I’m delighted to report that my husband Arthur is on his third non-smoking day with the help of Chantix! This is unprecedented; he’s tried everything on the market; patches, pills, tapes, acupuncture… you name it, he tried it.
Chantix is the only thing so far that has made him just not want to smoke. He and his sister started on the same day: May 6th. She’s still having a puff or two a day, but he’s past that stage. Neither of them stopped smoking after the first week. It was a gradual thing, and before they knew what happened, they were smoking less and liking it less. Pretty soon Arthur was down to a puff in the morning and one at night; less than half a cig! I guess that’s when he decided to go cold turkey.
Now, the caveat: The pills make him [and his sister] sleepy and nauseous and sometimes edgy. They are both willing to take them, though, because of the results. OH, and two other sisters quit on Chantix…!
I can’t wait until he can get off the drug and back to his old self… but I’m very grateful for modern medicine!
