Ring Around the Sun
Yesterday Bree and I went out back to lie on the pavers and stare up at the clouds, but the sun caught my interest instead. There was a very distinctive ring around it, the outer edge almost a rainbow!
Not normally superstitious, I nevertheless believe that there have been, and will be more legitimate ’signs’ in the sky. Hey, I’m Catholic.
Looking for a scientific reason for this particular ring, I googled ‘ring around the sun’ and came up with a few sites with pictures that look similar, like this one and this spectacular capture…
So, the ring is merely a ‘halo’ of [depending on which site one believes] ice crystals or dust. I’m convinced, except none of the pictures I found had anything like the ‘bottom’ that mind did. Ha!

Yeah, I hear you… though I’m not familiar with the Dead, the lyrics rock.

Anyway, check out David Dodd’s Annotated Lyrics site that I linked to up there. Even if you aren’t into the Dead, if you’re into literature it’s pretty cool. I’ve contributed to it some years ago and then had the good fortune to install an entry door for David and his wife last year.
It’s amazing how edumacated and shit Jerry, Robert Hunter and the boys are and were. Not just a bunch of dumb hippies.
